As a small, non-profit ministry, our clinic depends heavily on volunteers. 50% of our services come from volunteers who graciously serve as advocates or administrative support. Volunteers make this ministry possible.
Advocates serve a regular weekly 4 hour shift and provide options counseling and other patient support. Our advocates need to be highly discerning, full of compassion and great listeners.
Mentors meet with one or more patients for one hour a week in Hope’s Parenting Initiative. Mentorees will learn parenting skills while also earning valuable baby items such as car seats and strollers.
Current Needs
February 2024: We are currently in need of volunteer custodians to clean the Clinic and Annex buildings once a week. The schedule is flexible.
February 2024: Many of our patients need afternoon or early evening appointments (ending no later than 7 pm). We are looking for mentors who are available weekdays between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. We are especially in need of Spanish-speaking mentors. Our next Volunteer training for Mentors and Advocates begins March 14th.
Additional Volunteer Positions
Volunteers serve in other vital roles as well. Event volunteers help us execute our Dessert and Run/Walk fundraisers. Professional photographers provide photo shoots with patients and their babies, or they may photograph our events. Volunteers assist with organizing and putting away donations of baby clothes, baby items, and maternity clothes. (Nov. 2023, PLEASE NOTE: this position is currently full)
Groundskeeping volunteers help with weeding/plant care at our clinic and annex. This can happen as little as once a month or could be weekly. We are also looking for a volunteer to help with custodial duties at our new Annex. This would be a weekly position and would be a commitment of about 2 hours a week. Volunteers with handyman skills (light carpentry, fix it help) are also needed. This would be as needed with no regular schedule.
