When we Light the Way to Empowering Decisions, we can provide women with a continuum of care following pregnancy and beyond to ensure they will have access to resources and tools that they need to feel empowered and be successful.

Initiative 1

LIGHTING THE WAY TO Hope

Challenges:

Our current location is split between two buildings on Market Street.
Our current clinic has two patient rooms and two ultrasound machines that are often booked back-to-back. We never want to turn anyone away because of space limitations.
Our Parenting Initiative classes are held in our annex building which is located down the block from our clinic. Most patients view the walk along a busy street as a hindrance, which keeps them from signing up for the classes.

Solution:

With this initiative, we will expand our Annex Building by adding on 10,600 sq ft to the back to bring all of our services under one roof.
Double the number of patient rooms from 2 to 4, each equipped with an ultrasound machine.
Double work spaces for nurses and volunteers from 4 to 8.
Provide additional space for a third mentoring/teaching room for parenting classes.
Remove access barriers for patients.
Provide more space for training the increasing size of our staff and volunteers.

Initiative 2

LIGHTING THE WAY TO Compassionate Care

~40% of Hope patients are in the midst of a life-or-death decision. It is imperative we always have adequate space and staff to meet with them.

With this initiative, we can:

Increase and enhance our pregnancy decision counseling and ultrasound exams to women who are unprepared for pregnancy with the addition of a 5th full-time nurse.
Increase the number of women (and men) participating in our Parenting Initiative by 25%. About half of the fathers of the babies or partners attend with them and are coached and mentored.
Increase the number of women and fathers who can be exposed to the Gospel. By increasing the number of clients involved in the Parenting Initiative, we are increasing our opportunity to talk to women and their partners about salvation through faith in Christ.
Streamline our in-kind donations process which will allow us to increase the amount of free goods to our patients and mentees.

LIGHTING THE WAY TO Empowering Decisions

With this initiative, we can further expand our reach by connecting Hope clients to additional resources and connecting our community back to Hope.

Connecting Clients to Resources

Adding a case worker would allow us to serve our patients where they are. Our follow up will allow us to ensure women remain on track to successful parenting and have access to the resources they need for their own safety, health, and personal growth. This initiative will add three years of funding for a new case worker position.

Connecting the Community to Hope

To meet the growing needs in our community, we must add a dedicated development professional to partner with philanthropists and community stakeholders. This initiative will provide three years of funding to add a Director of Development to work alongside the Executive Director in fundraising to ensure sustainability and increase our revenue.
